About Merche

Pop singer Merche was born in Cádiz, Spain, on June 14th, 1974.

Music has always been important in her life. That's why she studied to become a music teacher. But she always dreamt to be a singer.

In 2001 she entered the song No me pidas más amor in the Spanish preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest. She came 6th, but the song became famous after a big promotion. Her debut album is called Mi sueño. It was published in 2002 and includes her singles No me pidas más amor, Mi sueño or Le deseo.

In 2004 she published her second album, Auténtica, being Abre tu mente the first single of the album. In 2005 she published her third album, called Necesito libertad, that includes songs like Eras tú, Dos extraños or Bombón.
