Between the Buried and Me

Venue was an old church - it was sick. Btbam were impeccable, flawless as far as I could tell. Great crowd, energy, etc. Would replay the whole thing over and over again if I could. Closed out the tour with a bang.

BTBAM always hits! They put on a great show time and time again. Their musical talent is unparalleled. Not a weak member in the band. Blake, their drummer, has to be one of the best out there. Paul… I mean does it get better? I think not! Their sound was perfection. Always professional and well rehearsed. You know you will get a great show any time BTBAM preforms!

Fantastic set of shows. Sound was perfect, super exciting hearing these two BTBAM albums and two Acacia Strain albums back to back to back to back! Highlight for me was Acacia Strain playing some songs from 3750 in honor of its 20 year anniversary.

BTBAM are always amazing live! They never disappoint and sound just as good if not better live as in studio.I was front row at this show and Brooklyn Bowl’s sound was great because of all the monitors up front. every part was clear. Rivers of Nihl were a great choice for this tour playing similar music. And Thank You Scientist are fun and entertaining for any crazy jazz fusion prog fan. I had a blast, what an amazing show!!

The heat and humidity was nearly unbearable at times last night. Not the fault of The Nile or anything, just a rough Phoenix summer night. That being said, BtBaM was nothing but professional and incredible. They never bitched, they never interrupted the show, they went right through The Parallax II with energy and love. Amazing show!

Opening bands were great. BTBAM was incredible. Sound quality was a little off for Rivers of Nihil, but it was fine for the other two bands. Great venue. Balcony seats were very comfortable and great view of the stage. I will be seeing this tour at least one more time and will definitely come back to the Palladium in Worcester!

Excellent show. Clearly the headliner for me out of the four bands that played. They played five extended tracks as the third band to play - and it was GLORIOUS. Well worth the price of admission. Definitely expert musicians, dedicated to their craft, and delivered beyond a five star performance. I'm a BTBAM fan for life. Period.

I've been a concert enthusiast for a lot of years. My first was Maiden in March of 87. There have been a LOT between then and now. Many hundreds. But this show was a first for me. But we'll get to that in a minute. Opener "Car Bomb" was first. They played for a solid hour. Competent musicians, one and all, but not a songwriter in the group. Every time they started to play something that resembled a hook or a groove, they veered away from it just as fast, never to return. Made it all terribly uninteresting. Enough of that. BTBAM hit the stage promptly at 9:30, and didn't stop until about 10:40. At all. No instrument changes. No pauses. No banter with the crowd. Nothing. At one point, guitarist Dustie Waring grabbed a chair and sat down for about 20 minutes of the set. Not, like, an "acoustic interlude" set or anything - full-bore metal set, dude chilling on a folding chair. To be honest, he was pretty static even when he was standing, betraying little emotion as he riffed through his parts. The other guys were more animated, and I wondered if perhaps he was sick. Anyway, about 10:40, they DID take a pause to say hi and thank everyone, before kicking off one last song, then returning again for an encore, before which guitarist Paul Waggoner spoke and joked for a bit. Song choices were great, performance was fantastic, especially for such dense and varied material. Sound was troubled in the beginning, with the first 4 songs or so sounding like one of the PA speakers was blown, but somehow that problem went away. Solid show from a great band, but opener Car Bomb had no business playing an hour long set here.

BTBAM was sick, as always. Voice of trespass was awesome live. Hoping they never tour with Chon, again. I was excited to check out Chon, but their music was way repetitive with no structure. I left when they said they were only halfway through. They also have a real annoying way of addressing the crowd.

Really great show, didn't even matter that it was a small venue. All the bands, especially Between the Buried and Me, performed with such passion and clarity. Still sounded live, but was very clean and I consider it one of the best shows I've seen live honestly! Can't wait to see them again!

The opening band, Astronoid, was not very good. TesseracT was great! Between the Buried and Me was amazing! However, the venue was not the best. It was small and crowded, standing only, and a moshpit in the center kept getting too wild for my taste. Someone's face was bleeding when I looked over at one point, but this was my first metal concert, so maybe that's normal. To sum it up, the music was great, but not the venue. BTBAM is definitely a must see live!

Between the buried and me, as usual, was phenomenally good. Tesseract was also great. I’m terrible with song titles, but BTBAM’s setlist as best as I could tell was: 1) the proverbial bellow 2) fossil genera 3) grid 4) specular reflection (just last 25% or so) 5) Telos 6) option oblivion 7) life in velvet 8) voice of tresspass Encore: condemned to the gallows

Awesome show, Toothgrinder was great, Polyphia was out of this world and BtBAM was amazing. The Contortionist was unfortunately the weak point of the night, they just didn't seem to mentally show up. Wasn't a huge deal, just not up to the same standards set by the other 3 bands.

As always BTBAM killed it. Even though I'm still not completely on board with the new album, watching them perform is art in motion. First time hearing Fallujah, and liked what I heard. They put on a pretty good show to boot. Wasn't able to stick around for Devin unfortunately.

It was beyond amazing!!! All the bands were spectacular, and finally getting to see my favorite group play was a dream come true!!! Also, sorry to the guy whose lenses I popped out of your glasses while I was crowd surfing, I feel bad about that. But an amazing show, loved seeing the one and only BTBAM!!! Can't wait for them to come around again!

Between the buried and me never fails to amaze. They're just so amazing live. Wish they played a longer time. In general cause I love them but also as a sense of compensation for the fact the faceless didn't come. I believe some form of compensation for that should've been given. A band didn't come and nothing was done about it. Not even something so simple as extending the set list. Starting the concert late cause of it was not a good call. The first band good tiger was the most disgusting thing I've ever experienced, but the perfection of between the buried and me, and the pleasant surprise in August burns red performance made up for those downfalls.

The show itself was killer. I wasn't too crazy about the venue though. A band like BTBAM is a little too big for it. The acoustics could use a little work too. Some things were over amplified and it kind of takes away from a band that has so much going on sonically. Outside of that, Athens is a killer place and the venue staff was incredibly friendly.

Absolutely Incredible, just like every other time I've seen BTBAM live, they don't play... Show was Impressive, esp. Silent Flight for the closer and blending The first half of Bloom into the whole second half of Swim to the Moon. Flawless, my only thing I would have like to have seen different is instead of playing Sun of Nothing as the encore, I wish it had been Veridian into White Walls or Ants or even All Bodies. Regardless, the show was ridiculous... \m/

no joke, this was the best live performance of any type I have ever seen. if you even remotely enjoy any type of music you will love this show. if you're a die hard BTBAM fan like myself who knows every single note of every song, nothing could be more fulfilling than this show. best experience I've ever had
