About Amber Cashel

Aftershock Records is proud to present Amber Cashel with her current debut album “One Iota & Everything That Follows”…and her following 2010 album “Tape Decks…& all these pleasures” …The story began in winter of 2006…Aussie songstress Amber Cashel grabs her guitar and the fragments of 14 songs, along with some other tasty additions, and mixes them all up, and out pops a little album called “One Iota & Everything That Follows”, a biographical tale of freedom, love and the frameworks of her life… …Moving on into early Feb 2007…so…Amber, the drummer, manager, Daphne (the GPS) and a rusty stage light that never stops rattling named F.A., and all the gear pile into the back of a commodore and set off on a voyage across out sunburnt land, darting in and out of a million venues, in what seemed like a billion cities to perform for a zillion gleaming Aussie faces. Throw in a couple of festival shows, special guest slots for Kate Miller-Heidke, Richard Clapton, The Charlie Lions, Emily Davis, Jimmy Barnes, Vanessa Amorosi, The Whitlams, Grayson & Swanee to boot and you’ve got yourself a pretty hectic couple of years, Amber Cashel had truly arrived on the indie music scene… …Edging early into 2008 now…After returning home totally beer soaked and intoxicated by servo food, the Aftershock Records kids took some very much needed time off. Amber tucked herself away and re-emerged with 10 shiny new songs that deliver a traditional sound of big hearted and honest Aussie music… …Amber and the team at Aftershock Records are back in the kitchen and cooking up the sophomore album, to the ever growing fan base’s delight. The new album “Tape Decks & All These Pleasures” is set for national release on Fri 23rd July 2010, with a national album launch tour following… … Amber Cashel first struck a chord with the indie scene back in 1999 when she was unearthed by Triple J, where she was made a main subject of a TV documentary, which aired nationally on ABC TV later that year. Also in 1999, Amber’s music was showcased to the nation when she was made apart of the channel V music bus. In April 2006 Amber Cashel was officially signed to indie label Aftershock Records, with the company giving her a chance to release a product of all original material. Amber spent six months in the studio laying down the tracks that would lead to the national release of “One Iota & Everything That Follows” in May 2007. In February 2008, Amber Cashel came 4th in the national “Wotnext” competition, which was founded and managed by Spiderbait drummer and vocalist “Kram”… …This is an artist with a distinct sound, fuelled by guitar driven and lusciously melodic voice, who’s performances and recordings, will take you to a place that feels incredibly familiar. Amber is a true artist who is worth every effort to experience… …Although Amber Cashel is not your usual household name, this artist and her indie record label have never given up on showing Australia the potential that this unique singer / songwriter has to offer. Averaging 110 live shows per year, pub after pub, venue after venue, festival after festival, Amber Cashel has tirelessly performed for her constant growing fan base right across Australia. Due to a real dedication to her craft Amber Cashel has grown the kind of fan base that has been forever supportive and always wanting more music, more shows and more support from the Australian Music Industry and who are constantly in contact, waiting to see what happens next in this story of a girl, a guitar and a hell of a lot to say….
