About Lonnie Gordon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Lonnie Gordon is a female House, Hi-NRG and soul music singer from New York's Bronx, who had several entries on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the nineties, including three that hit #1. She also had a major UK pop hit with the Stock, Aitken & Waterman produced song, "Happenin' All Over Again", which reached #4 in the main singles chart in 1990. Subsequent singles did less well there (although two reached the Top 40[1]). As a result her debut album, "If I Had To Stand Alone", was never officially released in the UK[citation needed], and only received a limited release in Europe and Japan.[citation needed]

Her first U.S. dance #1 was "Gonna Catch You" in 1991, which was featured on the soundtrack to the Vanilla Ice movie Cool as Ice. It also hit #79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #30 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Her next single Bad Mood topped the dance chart in 1993 and was followed by a remixed version of "Happenin' All Over Again," another dance chart #1 that also climbed to #98 on the Billboard Hot 100. The follow up single was "Do You Want It" released in 1994. All of those singles are included on her album, "Bad Mood" released on the now defunct SBK label which was a subsidiary of Capitol Records.

Gordon has hit the U.S. dance chart two more times in 1996 with the songs "Dirty Love" on Geffen Records whick peaked at #6. "If You Really Love Me" released on Big Bang Records, peaked at #42. Her third album, a combination of new songs and eariler material, titled "No Regrets" was released in the year 2000 on Centaur Entertainment. The new single released from "No Regrets" was titled "He Lives in You." It became a modest hit.
