Fleur Wiber

Fleur Wiber’s music has been described as "Mermaid Country". Currently based in Port Fairy, she was born in Hamilton, Victoria but grew up in Macedon. Coming from a folk/singer-songwriter background inspired by the likes of Laura Marling and Joan Baez, Fleur has turned up the alt-country rock sound in her recent recordings with Michael Carpenter. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Fiona Apple, Wilco, Andrew Bird and Cat Power, Fleur Wiber experiments with dreamy melodies and raw lyrics sometimes reminiscent of Neko Case or PJ Harvey. Over the years Fleur has been highly involved in the inner-western Sydney music scene. She loves to perform intimate shows where audiences can be taken to another realm.
