About Arrow in the sky

Arrow In The Sky are a deuce of multi-instrumentalists, Conor McCauley and Brian Murphy. They hail from the heart of Ireland and have created two fine and upstanding mini-albums; Do What Thou Wilt (2009) and Winter's Requiem (2011) - [Featuring 'Ghost Town' from upcoming feature film ''The Callback Queen'] AITS is a writing partnership steeped in a sonic world of their own making. As comfortable on stage as in studio and as unique in their performances as the grit of their instrumental arsenal. Looping guitars, blazing on mandolins, kicking a ragged suitcase turn bass-drum, they have always prided themselves on their untraditional approach to traditional instruments. AITS have been a favoured opening act on the Irish music scene their inception playing opening slots for Villagers, Duke Special and more. In the Winter of 2012 Conor and Brian felt it time to begin recording their debut album and while work continues it is scheduled for release in 2014. “'Winter's Requiem' proves to me that they are one of Ireland's best bands in the Folk-rock genre.” Peter Nagle - 2uibestow.blogspot.com “With these gorgeous folk melodies on their second EP, Arrow in the Sky mark themselves out as a force to be reckoned with” Ronan Hunt-Murphy - swearimnotpaul.com “They have a talent for capturing their surroundings through songs, reflecting nature and necessity. Like men working the land, they sweat and strain and pour every bit of themselves into the music. Music that makes you smile and cry simultaneously.” - cmj.com An aural tapestry of folk, blues and alt-rock.
