Katy's performance was really enjoyable, her vocals were on point, her songs were catchy and well written. :)

About Katy Alex music
After crafting her songwriting skills in Berlin, Brussels, and London writing for other artists and producers, Katy Alex gets ready to release her emotions, memories and fantasies in her own songs. Drawing playful influence from current pop artists such as Robyn and Charli XCX, but keeping the electronic drum sounds and heavy synth basslines of the 80’s era alive in her tracks, Katy Alex has created a personal sound which holds vocal hooks strong enough to play over and over again in your head, whilst lyrically sharing her deepest feelings and confessions.
Inspired by her great-grandfather at the young age of eight, she began her musical journey sat at the piano and in violin lessons. As years went by and she experienced heartbreak, betrayal, grief and love Alex began to write as a way of momentarily escaping reality. With a hefty catalogue of tracks under her belt, Katy is taking 2019 to launch her solo career as a performing artist working alongside local promoters to secure gig opportunities such as support for local emerging indie-pop band Paris Youth Foundation at Jacaranda’s Phase One at the end of March. Alex’s plan to leave a quick and continuous flow of mega-pop juiciness before her main stage performance at this year’s Liverpool Sound City Festival is backed by her confidence as a professional performer. Her stage presence and live vocal skills are honed by experience on stages such as LIMF (Liverpool International Music Festival) for three consecutive years with various other projects, most recently in 2017 opening the main stage to artists like Jax Jones and Gorgon City, and one of her personally most-memorable sets opening the Arts Club Theatre stage for Danish pop-songstress MØ on her Liverpool leg of her 2016 tour.
Proud of her hometown community and local creative scene, Katy Alex has manufactured a brand true to her identity. Honest, adventurous, and colourful - her music is parallel to her fashion sense. Teaming her sleek grey locks with a mixture of glam garments and sportswear, Alex’s love for styling is difficult to go unnoticed. Her mission is to draw listeners in with her lyrics in the hope they can relate to the pain she has faced through grief and toxic relationships, but also to the wondrous emotions of love and happiness, whilst also being incapable of keeping their feet still at the sound of her tracks. Approachable by nature, she aims to be as real as possible both sonically and aesthetically, but also wishes to entice listeners into exploring boundaries and their fantasies.
