President Ray-Gun

Four-piece, President Ray-Gun formed late 2013, hailing from Manchester. Unlike many other Manchester-based bands, President Ray-Gun formed to create a sound not only of alternative-rock, but as a way to portray their own love of science fiction and 90’s pop. Made up of Zachary Whittaker, Luke Chant, Sarah Booth and Tommy Grant, the band’s mission is to culminate the influences of sci-fi, comic books and alternative rock in order to create a wholly new and exciting sound. With influences ranging from Pixies to Weezer, taking in shoegaze and punk along the way, the band delve into a new genre of music which combine big names with an element of ridiculousness to offer an original concept. Their live shows are reminiscent of the 90’s music scene; unpredictable and exciting. They aim to perform their music with pop sensibilities and to ensure that the entire audience is amused and absorbed in the music. President Ray-Gun released their debut EP ‘Sex, Ray-Guns & Cabaret’ in June, 2014 to high praise. They are also due to release their next EP ‘Sex, Ray-Guns & No Delay’ in December 2015 as a re- recorded version of their debut EP where the songs have been revised to give more of an accurate feel for where the band are today; as well as including three extra tracks.
