I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived not really knowing what to expect. The audience was probably a little smaller than they had hoped for at the end of a long day of motorsports activities. Jennings had arrived around mid day and took the time to walk around and see what was going on. He was very good with fans and posed for lots of pictures and I bet he signed hundreds of autographs too. From my seat I could see him peaking around the side of the stage at times to watch his opener, local act Jamie Barton......He took the stage right on time and immediately had the crowd in his hand. His interaction was very good. Between songs, he continued to draw them in with his stories and comments. I get to see many national acts each year and the way he interacted with the fans kind of reminded me of Keith Urban, who I personally think is one of the best at that. He played a lot of his grandfathers well know songs, that the fans loved. When he played some of his music, that people may not have been familiar with, He seemed to connect with a story about why it was written. When he did the Highwayman, he had many people on their feet singing along with him. The fans loved it when he did Willie's part and tried to imitate Willies Unique voice. Near the end of the show he did the Dukes of Hazzard theme song and if you closed your eyes, you were drawn back to thinking you were hearing the original. Overall, a very enjoyable show. I would recommend people go attend one of his shows, if he comes to your town. At the end, he offered to shake everyone's hand. He went to his merchandise tent to meet people and was still seen swapping stories, taking pictures and signing items, well after the show was over. The one negative was that they had a lot of trouble with their monitors. They powered through, even though at times it was obvious that it was really bothering the band. I would have liked to have seen his guitar player use his acoustic a bit more with the sound issues.

About Whey Jennings
Whey Arron Jennings is the oldest son of Terry and Katherine Jennings. Grandson of the legendary Waylon Jennings. He has always had a deep love for music having grown up surrounded by a music family. As a young boy he attended a show of his grandfathers and his grandma Jessi. His grandmother had just left the stage singing "Storms Never Last", she left her mic in a chair back stage. The young Whey grabbed the mic, ran out on stage with it singing "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys". Waylon then gave a shout out "hold up there hoss wait for me!" as he began play his guitar along with his grandson Whey singing. The crowd went absolutely crazy as you can imagine. It should come as no surprise that this young man was a natural born singer. He is now touring the nation filling up venues everwhere he goes! The tradition lives on ! He’s performing at Festivals, Fairs, Rallies, Theatres, Rodeos, Dance Halls, Bars, and Private parties all over the USA!
