JAM☆*THE*☆FUNK was born when the band got together to jam on a few songs that they enjoyed listening to throughout their lives. Living out their busy and successful musical careers they rarely got a chance to express their love for their 60′s & 70′s Funk and Soul favourites which they all discovered they had in common. With the dream of taking their show across Australia, Jam The Funk have become an ALL STAR High Energy, Hip Shaking RocK, FunK & Soul band, performing the songs they love that’s guaranteed to get you up on the dance floor. Jam The Funk are: Nikki Nicholls – who is the voice on countless albums including John Farnham, Indecent Obsession and has toured with Australian Crawl, Suzie Quatro, Sharon O’Neil, Brian Cadd, John Farnham Band and globally as Kylie Minogue’s backing vocalist. Nikki performed in the highly acclaimed show “Girls Girls Girls” with Wendy Stapleton and Debra Byrne. Eric Mc Cusker - from legendary band Mondo Rock joins on guitar and vocals, Eric’s string of hits are Epic and include “State of the Heart”, which became a gold selling hit, “Summer of ‘81”, “Chemistry”, “No Time” and the biggest song “Come Said the Boy” is an Aussie classic. Robyn Payne – keyboards toured with Tommy Emmanuel, Tina Arena, and the Seekers and performed with Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Roger Daltrey, Barry Manilow, Jackson Browne and also six years with The Hey Hey It’s Saturday Band. Danny Simcic - from the internationally successful band REAL LIFE who had a string of hits ‘Send me an Angel’, ‘Catch me I’m Falling’, ‘God Tonight’ and Lets fall In Love’ selling well over 3 million records worldwide is on drums. Rick Petropoulos - who has recorded and toured with The Ferrets (who achieved a 13 week, no 1 single with Don’t Fall in Love), Last Chance Café and The Motivators and touring with Status Quo, Bo Didly Thin Lizzy on Bass. Paula Jane Reid - on percussion and backing vocals – recording on countless alums, including Marcia Hines, most of Vanessa Amorosi’s recordings and performed with Grand Wazoo. G E T D O W N ! ! !
