About Scarth Locke

Scarth Locke is a soup-to-nuts songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and engineer whose first CD was largely recorded into a laptop in a shack on an Indian hillside. His unique blend of electronic and acoustic pop songwriting has few predecessors, and so his journey to a well-defined sound has taken him through countless live and studio configurations. As he has worked to hone his musical vision, he has always worked—as a chef, a co-founder of Earthville Institute, a school bus driver, a cheesemonger, a substitute teacher, and now as an occupational therapist—convinced that a rich working life brings depth to his artistic life. His most recent release shows him finally hitting his stride as a composer, arranger, and performer of intensely lyrical, cinematic, finely textured pop. Left-of-center pop that reaches from the 70s to the present day, and hugs all of it in a big, bittersweet hug. Perfect w/ coffee on a sunday morn.
