About Radiola
Radiola is a British alternative rock band based in Paisley, Scotland. The band was formed in 2008 after a britpop hangover was cured by American alternative rock in the early 2000's.
The band consists of founder Dave Muir (vocals and guitar), Colin Bryce (keys and bass), Johnny Patrick (drums) and James 'Jimi' Cooper (guitar).
Exhibiting the type of rambunctious musical abandon the Beatles pioneered on the white album, Radiola are unconstrained by standard classification in their quest for truth through music. The result is something strangely familiar yet wholly new.
An amazing dynamic live band, Radiola's musical influences include the raw energy and melody of Neil Young, the lyricism of Bob Dylan, the fearless songwriting of Wilco and the avant-garde stylings of Radiohead. The music is probably best categorized as alt. country prog rock but that would not really do justice to their sound.
The first official recording young hip helpline, released in 2014, earned great reviews.
