About Nicolas Patterson
Born in Montreal, Nicolas Patterson was raised in an environment where English and French would quite often merge into one language. The young artist initially introduced himself as a leading member in numerous punk bands. However, as he would mature and grow up, his sound evolved. As the years went by, pop and folk influences became more noticeable in his sound.
Over the past three years, the singer/songwriter has twice toured overseas in Europe and played over a hundred shows in Quebec, Ontario and across the borders in California and New York. Time, hard work and perseverance have provided the artist with opportunities to share stages with Bobby Bazini, Jonathan Roy, Kim Churchill and many more.
Eager to broaden his horizons, the artist worked with Nicolas Roberge (San James, Groenland, Anik Jean) and Patrice Pruneau (Rouge Pompier, Jeffrey Piton). On February 10 2017, Nicolas debut EP was released. With this album, the artist embraces light and bright pop flavours of his own, which are sometimes intertwined with his undeniable folk influences. While telling stories of changes and escapes, “Everything Is Changing” is also an invitation to stay. In order to promote his release, Nicolas embarked on tour (Qc / Ont) opening for various artists such as Lewis Watson, Ben Caplan and Alexe Gaudreault.
Within the next few weeks, the singer/songwriter will be going back to California in order to write his 2nd EP which will be released early 2018. Throughout the summer, the artist will be appearing at many events such as the Saint-Jerome Folk Festival and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu.
In September, Nicolas will pack his bags and spend two weeks touring in Germany and Belgium. The end of the year 2017 promises to be punctuated with numerous appearances on stage opening shows for various artist.
