About Memphis Linzy Rocks

The new single "Fun And Games" release date july 4th, 2017 exclusively on soundcloud from Memphis Linzy was produced by Jack Endino aka "Godfather of Grunge" (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Zeke)in Seattle at Soundhouse studios.
Memphis Linzy wrote the track and sings and plays ryhthm guitar, his trusty 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom.
The track also features Endino playing lead guitar on the record.
Backing vocals on the track are by longtime friend and musician Richard Layton.
Rounding out the line up is drummer Adam Quiz, a Colorado native
and veteran of the RFV (Colorado) punk scene.
The group recorded 11 tracks at the session and the new record
entitled "What Day Is It Today?" will be released this fall independently on Ain't Nothin' Records.

A brief history of Memphis Linzy's career in music in the Colorado underground punk scene began as the singer/guitarist of Discolored Perception. After the break up in 2013 of DCP, Memphis Linzy relocated to Dallas, Tx and put a new band together in the spring of 2013 to start a solo career.

The new band headed out to Sam Phillips Studios
in Memphis, Tennessee and recorded some new songs with Roland Janes,
member of original Sun Records house band as well as Jerry Lee Lewis lead guitar player.
The first single was released in late August 2013 entitled "Don't Let It Go To Your Head" which was mixed and mastered with additional production by Ed Stasium,
famed Ramones producer who also sang backing vocals on the track.
The accompanying video was released on Youtube featuring a slideshow of the band in and around Memphis during the session. The song went live on itunes/Pandora in May 2014 and is in regular rotation on Radio CMC in Colorado.

The band travelled to Seattle summer 2014 and recorded a full length album
with Jack Endino, infamous producer (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Zeke) and played a gig at the legendary El Corazon(Off-Ramp) while in town.
The first single "Just Sayin'" the first song off new record made its radio debut on the Hession Session 99.1 outer banks. sept 12, 2015. It was also picked up by 1190 AM Boulder, CO, Radio CMC 93.9 Glenwood Springs and KNTU 88.1 Denton, TX.
The band recorded a video for the song in Dallas with local filmmaker Marc Benavidez that can be found on youtube.

The band has played all over Dallas including Gas Monkey, the venue of Richard Rawlings, from Discovery channel's Fast and Loud as well as Three Links in Deep Ellum with legendary punk bands The Weirdos from Hollywood and The Hudson Falcons from NJ.
The band played a gig at The Beauty Bar in downtown Las Vegas Nov 2015
to celebrate the record release.

The band continued playing locally and regionally into the new year then traveled to Nashville for a gig with local punks Tank Rats in Nov 2016
before heading back to Seattle for a new recording session
in Dec 2016 enlisting producer Jack Endino to play bass.

Highlights of Discolored Perception career.
Sharing stages over the years with the likes of Agnostic Front, Supersuckers,
Agent Orange(2x), Dead Kennedy's, The Blasters(LA)2x, Throw Rag, Koffin Kats,
Lower Class Brats, Roger Miret & The Disasters, Vice Squad(UK), Total Chaos,
Blitz(UK), Walter Lure(Heartbreakers), and Quiet Riot(original line-up)

Invited to NYC to play CBGBs for the Meany Festival 2004. Invited back by the
club in November 2005 to play a headlining show.
The band created its own scene around its contagious blend of
old-school Punk, Blues and Rockabilly.
The group was featured in skateboard and snowboard videos on Fox Sports,
Hawaii's Ballistic TV, and ESPN's Winter X games. The band's music has been
played on Aspen radio station KSPN, playing live and doing on-air interviews,
and Carbondale's KDNK, Grand Junction's KMSA,
as well as Memphis' own WEVL.
