About Hard Luck Rebels
The band started as just an idea when Louis knockout (former punk guitarist for Wreckage Squad & Hollywood Knockout) found his love for psychobilly/rockabilly music in 2009 .that’s when he decided that he wanted to put a band together. it took him about 4 years to find people who played the style and had the dedication and ambition he had for music, but in early January of 2013 he met Johnny HellKat (guitar slinger for Hell Bound Hearse) through an old mutual friend and set up a jam session. From that day on they decided to put a band together and start looking for more members for the band. It took about 5 months to find drummers and upright players who wouldn’t stand them up on jam session. That’s when they came across Eddie Moron in June 2013, a local greaser who had played in local metal bands (leprosy and Heat Stroke) and has done fill in musician sessions for other bands and happen to own an upright bass. Eddie knew Johnny from before where they both worked at a local DQ cooking burgers and singing rock n roll in the kitchen for hours on end .so through that they set up a jam session from there and they soon found the Third member for the band. They jammed songs for a week straight when one day they all decided to try something new and all switch instruments. Now with Eddie Moron on Lead Guitar, Johnny HellKat on Upright bass and forcing Louis Knockout to play standup drums while singing they decided to keep that as the lineup and there they had The Hard Luck Rebels. The name came from the fact that all the band members have had bad luck when it came to finding other band members and bands in the past and having tough situations to go through that could have stopped them from making their music. That’s where the Hard Luck part came from. Now the rebel’s part came from them rebelling against all the people who doubted them by saying they couldn’t do it or wouldn’t make it in the music scene. So the name Hard Luck Rebels came about. The rebels started writing all original music right away due to the fact that they really wanted to get the band out to play shows and to show people there take on writing psycho rock n roll. After about 4 weeks of writing they went to the studio to get there demo ready. It was a rough 7 song demo titles “horrible music for horrible people”. In that demo they write about their love for rock n roll, horror, cars and having a good time. Soon after that they started trying to promote the band as much as possible and to play any show they could get a spot on. In four months the rebels have played all around Texas in such places as Austin, TX, Del Rio, TX, Corpus Christy, TX and their home town San Antonio, TX. With bands such as The Chop Tops, Koffin Kats, Calabrese, The Phantom Rockers, Slick City Daggers, The Triggers, Dice For Lights (japan), Hard Fall Hearts, Back Alley Barbers, & Klax. The rebels just finished recording a single "Psycho Party (toast to the sky)" that will be out soon and have planes to write and record a full length album. http://instagram.com/hard_luck_rebels http://www.reverbnation.com/thehardluckrebels https://www.youtube.com/user/HardLuckRebelsSATX
