KLASSIK ( Swartland Original Music Group )
Local Folk Rock band & Swartland favourite, Klassik, started out in 2014 as a bunch of guys jamming together and bonding over their shared love for music
(and rock ‘n roll!). Within 6 weeks they had their first gig and the rest, as they say, is history! What followed was 3 years back to back at the KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees), and other shows including the Seasons of Sauvignon Festival, Darling Wildflower Show, Die Boer, Mootstok, Darling Cellars Crush Day, Quay 4 Battle of The Bands, and many more. They have performed alongside great musicians, the likes of Anton Goosen, Stone Jets and Nadine Blom. At the end of 2014 they released their first album, Weekend Warrior, and now their first EP, Storietyd, which is to be officially released in November 2017.
The band is made up of Marius Smith (vocals), Innes Linder (lead guitar), Marius Botha (drums) and Jandré Gysman (bass guitar). The band performs mainly in Afrikaans, with a Blues, Folk & Rock injection. They perform original songs, written and composed by Marius Smith, as well as cover songs. The band is available to perform at private and corporate functions, events, weddings, birthdays, festivals, markets or whatever you have in mind! The band can also perform as a DUO at smaller venues, made up of Marius
Smith & Innes Linder.
