About Da Vinci
There are several bands named Da Vinci.
1. A heavyrock band from Oslo, Norway. Members were Lars Aass (vocals), Bjørn Boge (bass), Jarle Meløy (drums), Dag Selboskar (keyboards) and Gunnar Westlie (guitar). They had their first concert in march 1987, and got signed on Polygram records (which at the moment was on the lookout for a band similar to the swedish Europe). Da Vinci gained a little success with their single "Forever in my heart". They also gave out two albums, which sold 20 000 and 10 000 copies.
They toured with Ole I'dole around England in december 1989 (headliner was Status Quo). Bjørn Boge quit the band in January 1990. The bass duty was then carried out briefly by Aslak Molvær, before he also was replaced by Ulf Landin. The band changed label to CBS and recorded a single a short while after.
The norwegian Da Vinci disbanded in 1991.
2. Another one is a Portuguese band created by Iei-Or and Pedro Luís, whose members included Ricardo, Joaquim Andrade, Dora Fidalgo, and Sandra Fidalgo, among others throughout the years. They represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 with the song "Conquistador" and finished 16th. A year later the Fidalgo sisters went on to the Eurovision as backing vocals for Portugal. Presently only the two founding members are in the band.
