Super Bonanza

If the MC5 and Morphine had a baby, it would be Super Bonanza! Philadelphia based Super Bonanza provides a groovy, jazzy twist to indie rock in their use of unconventional instruments including the baritone saxophone and the two-stringed bass but create an original sound that is equally rough around the edges with a whole lot of grit and incredibly melodic at the same time. Vocalist and bass player Joe Oxman sounds like a mixture of Iggy Pop and Tunde Adebimpe from TV on the Radio. The band plays out like a jam session between old friends as Oxman on the two-stringed bass and Doug Dubrosky on the baritone saxophone form a solid partnership sonically along with keyboardist Dave Oxman and drummer Dave Femia.
