About Brufield

‘Indie-pop five-piece Brufield certainly haven’t disappointed with the release of their highly anticipated debut EP, an intriguing release that and a clear indicator that these guys aren’t your run-of-the-mill pop rock band’ The Music Magazine June 2015
Australian based pop rockers Brufield have had a busy 2 years cementing their reputation as one of Perth’s must see bands.
Fusing captivating melodies with powerfully emotive vocal delivery, Brufield take audiences on a rollercoaster ride of emotion from the lows of their brooding ballads to the highs of their sparkling pop anthems getting even the most skeptical of pundits tapping their feet!
'This is a band that shines in a festival atmosphere, where they can let loose and captivate the audience with their infectious energy. This is a band that is at its absolute best when it has room to move, to get lost in the music and make the crowd feel at once both relaxed and thoroughly entertained as they groove to heart-pounding beats. At its core, Brufield are a perfect festival band with a wholehearted enjoyment for what they do, which in turn leads to an electric atmosphere.' Lost Magazine November 2015
In 2014, armed with only one single (the ever catchy ‘Let’s Go Find Another’) early successes saw them performing at Big Day Out 2014 after winning the national Headspace Big Day Out competition, beating over 500 bands to take the coveted spot. Shortly after they recorded the music clip for Let’s Go Find Another which went viral and was nominated for ‘Best Music Video’ at the Silent River Film Festival in California.
After electric performances at numerous festivals in WA, including the Mandurah Crab Fest, the Midlandia Locale Festival and the Kinetic Dreaming Festival, 2015 saw the band release their follow up single, Black Hearts. Following in the steps of its predecessor, the music clip for this video once again went viral with the song receiving widespread acclaim and airtime.
'True to its slated genre, Brufield is all about music that is accessible, providing catchy hooks (best heard in Let’s Go Find Another) and forceful instrumentation that never ventures into self-indulgent territory. Thanks to the high energy brought about by the tight meshing of frenzied drumming, slick guitar and engaging yet unobtrusive keyboarding. It has all the hallmarks of a solid festival band: a consistent, driving energy, interspersed with a few quieter, slow-burning numbers. Lost Magazine November 2015
In June 2015 the band released their highly anticipate debut EP, ‘Cracked’ which was very well received by the music press, scoring 4/5 stars with the Music.
‘You’ll be captivated by frontwoman Lisa Caulfield’s delicate yet powerful vocals from minute one, with flawless runs and emotional depth that would put some seasoned performers to shame. The tracks themselves are rich with heartfelt, intelligent lyrics and manage to be relatable without being trite’ Charmaine de Souza, the Music
In November 2015 the band released the title single, 'Cracked', from the EP, complete with a poignant music clip. This clip is currently going from strength to strength and attracting a lot of attention due to it's controversial content.
January 2016 saw Brufield launch their ambitious double A-side single. This double single explores the light and the darkside of Brufield, and life as a whole. The release was met with widespread acclaim, with AMNplify dubbing the band as 'One of the bands to watch in 2016'.
Following this release the band are now preparing for both national and international tours which will see them spread their pop-rock love across the world.
