About The Galaxy Electric
The Galaxy Electric are American retro-futurists experimenting with psychedelic pop from the space age. A self-taught sound engineer, Augustus mans the static-emitting machines that allow Jacqueline's lounge-inspired vocal machinations to soar.
Inspired by early electronic music pioneers who soundtracked their favorite sci-fi movies & TV shows (Dr. Who, Forbidden Planet, Clockwork Orange), The Galaxy Electric strive to continue this legacy of experimentation, innovation and a belief that “tomorrow was better yesterday.”
Dedicated to preserving the legacy of these pioneers’ work to build a better tomorrow through sound, The Galaxy Electric host a podcast and private club to research, explore and enjoy these artists and their trailblazing work.
Currently hard at work in their project studio, The Galaxy Electric are gathering samples, splicing tape, and engaging in signal processing to tune into just the right frequency for their newest series of dance singles inspired by Pierre Schaeffer's "locked groove" concept.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign to release their second album on Reel to Reel Tape & Vinyl, followed by their first collaboration album with Drew Mulholland, the godfather of hauntology (formerly known as Mount Vernon Arts Lab), released on SubExotic Records in early 2024, The Galaxy Electric are excited to prepare new material for their fans.
“A blend of electronica, psych pop, and retro-futurism.” - Rough Trade
