About Gardens of Acadia

In January of 2013, Gardens of Acadia was formed in Purchase, New York by lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Amrhein and former vocalist/drummer Ethan Strain. Soon, they would add lead guitarist Michael Gordon to form the first lineup of Gardens of Acadia. Despite not having a full time bassist, GOA were able to put together a lengthy repertoire of songs written mainly by Amrhein. After months of perfecting their craft, GOA opened at Quad Jam '13. Both Gordon and Amrhein spent summer of that year writing new material for the band into the beginning of their sophomore year of college. Strain took a leave of absence from the band from that point due to personal issues. Less than a week before GOA's audition to play Fall Fest '13, Amrhein recruited Bryan Primrose on bass guitar and Sam Fraioli as a temporary replacement drummer. In October of 2013, GOA came out with their first recorded work, a 3 song EP called "Enter the Gardens." As of March 2015, the EP is now free! In November of the same year, Strain was officially ejected from the band and EJ Rios (of Atlantis Bound, and currently of True Apothecary) was brought in on drums. Throughout 2014, GOA continued to write and perform, playing at such venues as Tobacco Road with Bad Case of Big Mouth, Post 282 in Harrison, NJ with BCOBM, Nevada Rose and others, Manhattanville College's Local Music Festival (featuring the likes of One Fell Swoop, American Pinup, Wess Meets West and more), among others. Late 2014, Primrose was fired from the band for slandering members as well as expressing negativity regarding the band's direction. Rios would then depart before Amrhein and Gordon released a limited edition collection of demo recordings on the band's Bandcamp page (which at the moment is taken down). In March 2015, Gordon and Amrhein along with their new drummer James Gemino (Sabretooth, Raina Mullen) went back to the studio to record the band's second EP, "Red Yellow and Blue". As of April 6, 2015, the EP is available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and Google Play. Currently, Amrhein, Gordon and Gemino are recording their third work, which they plan to release spring 2016. They have plenty of other surprises coming as well, so stay tuned! Progressive Punk band out of Purchase, NY. New EP "Red Yellow and Blue" Available on iTunes(http://apple.co/1NPUhTF) and Bandcamp(http://bit.ly/1HKpyFz)
