About Joshua Allen and The Show Me Saints

September, 29th 1993.... Joshua Allen Burbey arrived into this world.
Born in New Albany, Mississippi. Southern roots and hospitality have been instilled since birth. Life wasn't cool as cornbread, but somehow he's managed to captivate the essence of life and its been a ride ever sense.

?Growing up in a little town, tucked away in the deep south of Alabama, "Russellville" was a great starting point for life. I mean whats not to like about the south? The people, weather, food, and of course MUSIC...

Only a short 30 minute drive from the famous "Muscle Shoals", music became a burning passion in the young heart of Joshua. For a trip to the "Muscle Shoals Rock N' Roll HOF" would forever change his life.

In 2007 Joshua moved to Rolla, Missouri and really started exploring his musical endeavors. Starting with the drums, he taught himself how to play and was soon playing for his Uncles church 3 times a week. However that wasn't all he did musically, he also joined choir in 8th grade and the instructor seemed to notice early on, Joshua's passion and robust talent.

He was hungry to do as much as he could with his God given talent. So, he formed a metal band and that really never got farther then the basement or garage. He continued playing in church and singing in choir for the next couple years, while attending "Jam Sessions" across town as frequently as possible.

He picked up the guitar his Junior year of high school and dove in head first, just like he had with drums. He would spend countless hours after school on youtube, teaching himself how to play the ole' 6 string. He formed a band his Senior year of high school, which they named "3's A Crowd," considering they were only a 3 piece, and they played anywhere and every where. Local bars, festivals, parties and more. Though never really getting out of the local Phelps county region.

At the end of his senior year his band mates left for college and he was left alone just him, his voice, guitar, and a fire burning. That didn't stop him as he began attending open mics and playing acoustic gigs here and there, and doing everything he could to maintain growth in music.

He started playing with local party and cover bands behind the kit and started getting more and more exposure, drifting from job to job, and band to band. All he wanted and prayed for was to make a career out of music. Which leads us to now....

Joshua released his first solo Ep in November of 2017, while on tour in Wisconsin, and gained a great bit of exposure from it.
He set out, touring constantly and finally formed a group of talented musicians who were also close friends. They became...

"Joshua Allen and The Show Me Saints"

A year and a half later, thousands of miles, hundreds of shows, and countless broken strings, Joshua Allen and The Show Me Saints released their Sophomore record "A Night at Gaslight" in January of 2019. They traveled to the famous "Gaslight Studios" in St. Louis, and recorded their new songs, anxious to release their hard work of writing and progressing.

Joshua and The SMS' new record has gained them a lot of exposure, which they worked their tail off for. They managed to play over 160 shows in 2018, in 8 states. Touring constantly and doing whatever they could to spread their tunes and reach new fans.

Joshua and the guys are still hard at it, grinding, road doggin, and touring constantly maintaining around 3-5 shows a week and show no sign of slowing down. Between touring, radio plays, social media and streaming, you'll most definitely be seeing and hearing more from this band of brotherly saints.
