Silent Blackout

The Band formed in February 2011 when a group of friends from school got together and started to jam and play some music. This then developed as we took part in our school talent show with ‘The Pretender’ by Foo Fighters as the first cover we learnt. After we had done this, fuelled by the excitement of one gig, we managed to bag another playing a set at a birthday party. With this we managed to gain popularity within the school and outside the school in the music business. We started to play festivals in the summer such as ‘The Workhouse’ and also countless venues in and around Oswestry, such as Ironworks, Miners Arms, The Hive, The Leisure Centre, The Fox, Rechabite Hall, The Buck and more! Towards the end of the year we’d been together, in January we decided to roughly record three of our best songs to mark our anniversary, the three songs being ‘Addiction’, ‘The Chase’ and ‘On and On’. We also took a headlining spot at the Ironworks on our birthday. Then in March we also managed to organise a gig at the Cricket Club for charity which did extremely well, raising over £180. Among many other gigs we are currently organising and playing around our exam timetable we have also organised a festival at the Miners Arms for charity on the 4th June.
