About Shantak
Shantak is a Melodic Death Metal project born in Brescia (Northern Italy).
The Heavy, Doom and Thrash Metal influences mixed with Melodic Death and Death Metal aims and interests of the members were able to create an original and uncommon sound that's hard to classify made by powerful chords and moving melodies sometimes gloomy and sometimes bright.
The lyrical themes are focused on literature, dreams, visions and nature. But the main themes and backgrounds in the most of the songs are death and mortality.
The name "Shantak" comes from the Lovecraftian literature. The Shantaks are mighty dragon-shaped creatures that fly high above the highest peaks and the deepest chasms of the desolated lands of the "Unknown Kadath", a mysterious and gloomy mountain raised by the Great Old Ones.
