About Jamie O'Connor

Jamie O'Connor born in 1973 the 2nd of six sons, to 2nd generation Irish-immigrant parents who settled in southwest England. Jamie's musical roots were first planted in classical, and jazz, where he schooled as a percussionist and vocalist, both abroad and in the U.S.. A self-taught guitarist and pianist, Jamie demonstrated an early affinity for both traditional and contemporary Americana, most specifically gospel, blues, soul, folk and country. His influences, while never homogenous, reflected his favorites from Al Green and Marvin Gaye, to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Jim’s brand of “Mick-Soul” invokes the passion-rich, sonar tapestry of Detroit's Motown, heat-fused together with electrified-southern-acoustical seasonings that undulates to a frothing cohesive broth with breath-taking unbridled dynamics and artistry, enabled by a voice that spans three octaves and fears nothing.
