Great concert with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members and touring veterans of over 50 years, legendary Cheap Trick. Their experience shows, voices aren't as they used to be, just like members of Sir Paul, Sir Ringo, Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, etc. They are appreciative of their fans and enjoy interacting and hearing the audience sing along to songs, "Surrender," "Dream Police," "I Want You To Want Me." These guys still know how to rock and are always entertaining.

This was the second time I had seen Cheap Trick in just under a year (the previous time was when the were opening for Heart). The band still has great energy, Robin Zander still has the pipes, and Rick Nielsen can still shred and has the same sense of humor he's always had. However, I rate this show as only a 4 for a couple of reasons. First, this show was part of the tour to promote their newest album, All Washed Up, so I was expecting to hear two or three tracks from it; they played just ONE song from it the entire night, and not the one I expected. Two, they played some deep cuts and singles from the pre-Budokan days in the first part of the show, which was making it difficult for me to enjoy the show. One thing for sure about this band, though, is they appear to change up the setlist each night (both by changing the order and track selection), so they clearly aren't going through the motions after all these years. So many acts choose a setlist for a tour and play the same songs in the same sequence night after night. Not so with Cheap Trick.

Solid opening act set by Cheap Trick though the sound was better further back in the Amp venue than in the reserved seating, for reasons unknown. I've seen four CT shows over last six years on so, inside and outdoors, and the sound quality has been muddy at times. Styx followed CT in same venue, was clear as a rock bell, so something in the speakers, players, sound controls could be better. I'm not sorry I went, just expect higher definition.

So glad I was finally able to see Cheap Trick. Robin Zander still can sing and Rick Nielsen still is, well, Rick Nielsen. One thing, though, is their setlist is like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates: you sort of never know what you will get. You're for the most part guaranteed "Dream Police," "Ain't That a Shame," "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," and "Goodnight" (their closer). Other than that, it's a roll of the dice. Short version: don't have your heart set on anything other than these, especially if they played it recently. The setlist outside of these five changes almost nightly.

The band was fantastic - Robin's voice is still there without a loss of quality, Rick is still uber talented and funny, and Tom is still an absolutely amazing bass player. The guitar changes between songs aren't quite as fast as they used to be, which does slightly impact the flow and pace of the show. All told, I'd go see them again tomorrow. The acoustics at the venue were good, sightlines weren't bad for a flat floor, since the stage is elevated enough that it keeps the band visible. Parking was fairly easy.

It was awesome. It’s great to see talented rock n roll bands w/ the longevity to get up on stage play great like Cheap Trick-hence why they are in the Rock Hall Of Fame. Just like the rock band Styx they are a great band from Illinois. I love this band & their music unfortunately I missed seeing them live growing up back in the 70s & 80s. I have worked their show a few times at a concert amphitheater in NY (I am a union stagehand-IA Local: 353) and watched bits of the show and always knew how great they were. Overall-just what I expected.

I will always go see Cheap Trick whenever they’re in town. They are road warriors. I get to hear my favorites and also some deep tracks because they change their set list a little bit every night. Keep on rocking! It was good to see Heart back on the road, and they have a phenomenal band with several guitar aficionados backing them up. Ann Wilson’s voice is still phenomenal and in my opinion, she is the best female vocalist in history!

Phenomenal show--so what's new? It was their last show of the year, and everyone did look tired and grateful that they were heading home (Rick mentioned that a couple times!), but you'd have never known it from their powerful performance. Of course, Zander sounded great. Peterssen did a remarkable solo--definitely not your typical bass solo. Got to hear Robin II do a solo. Unfortunately, the crowd was not as welcoming to him as they should have been. I guess a lot of folks couldn't figure out about two Robin Zanders in the same band. Threw me the first time. Kudos to GSR for their great security people. Very polite and patient. Helped make this a memorable show.

You never expect the group to be the same as when I first saw Cheap Trick in the 80's, they were very good though in 2023 & I very much enjoyed the show, very glad I went to the show.. Cheap Trick started exactly at 7:30 pm and ended at 9pm, I love it when the performers respect their guests & start on time. Cheap Trick was great as always. Really nice venue, comfortable, outdoors, nice sightlines, perfect sound, nice video/special effects, good food and drink available BUT only one road leads to the amphitheater so they tell you to arrive @ 4pm for a 730pm show, but the gates and concessions are not open so you sit in your car for hours. parking is a nightmare, exiting the place is a bigger nightmare poor traffic control, they force you to drive miles north even if you need to go south or west often you will spend more time exiting the parking lot and driving home than listening to music, so I rarely go there, like almost never. Made an exception for Cheap Trick and Rod Stewart.

We all had a great time. Cheap Trick was awesome as usual. The venue was beautiful and clean. Very nice and helpful people. The only negative thing I would say is if you are not allowed to bring in water ( and it was hotter than you know what) don't charge so much for plain old water. It's not fair. It's hot and we had to share a water between us because of the expense. I can see paying a bit for Alcohol, but water??? Come on. And one other thing. I heard a lot of people around me of complaining about vaping/ smoking. I don't but, there should be one spot for them to go to. Just my opinion. Otherwise great time...great memories.

The boys from Rockford sound amazing and have such a high energy show full of hit songs and a few deeper cuts. I’ve seen Cheap Trick dozens of times. This was the best show I have been to. Miles Nielsen (Rick’s son) and the Rusted Hearts opened up and they are simply incredible. If you have a chance to see them, you will certainly become a huge fan. Their live show absolutely rocks and they are the greatest guys.

Great show. Robin Zander sounds incredible for his age. Rick Nielsen brought the fire with his guitar playing and his son Daxx killed it on the drums. Would be a perfect score if there were a few more songs from the latest album or other great later albums like Rockford or ‘97. But this is a great band that deserves WAY more love and recognition. To me they are the American equivalent of the Beatles. And I’m really happy I’ve finally gotten to see them live.

Absolutely fantastic show! I wish it could have gone on for ever. Cheap Trick have been joined by Robin Zander’s awesomely talented son, Robin Taylor Zander, known by his legions of fans as RTZ. There is nothing this extraordinary young guy can’t do. He is a multi-instrumentalist who writes, sings, and produces. He has an album coming out soon. Rick, Tom, Robin, and Daxx were brilliant as always. They appreciate their fans, who come back to see them time after time. They are terrific folks and consummate musicians. Go see ‘em!

Oh, I wanted to do so badly! But, it is a long drive from Oklahoma and my boss wanted me to work overtime. : < I saw the videos of it on You Tube. Gosh! I wish I were there. It looked like so much fun. Hope to see them again some day. Also, Tom wore the hat the reminds me of drunken squirels. Love them. Love the squirrels.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but it was a little too loud for my old ears. Rick displayed a wide variety of guitars and tossed handfuls of picks to the crowd. I don't think that I've seen any other band employ a twelve-string bass. I had forgotten that Row A of the balcony is set back to accommodate boxes, so the sight lines were not what I expected from Row A. Other than that, it's a great venue. After the show, I tried to get Rick and Robin to sign a photograph which I took in the mid-70's. Unfortunately, we had staked out the crew bus, instead of the band bus, and they were off to Waukegan.

There really isn't much to say,,, as usual Cheap Trick put on an amazing show. Robin sings great as ever,, although it was a little hard to hear him sing over the music, great selection of songs, no complaints. Rod Stewart is still s**y as ever & can still sing well after all these years. I just wish he would have played some more of his own songs instead of opening the show with someone elses song,, & as much as I think that the backup singers have amazing singing skills,,, I just wish Rod sang some of the songs that he usually doesn't sing live like 'Infatuation,, Tonight I'm Yours,, " Lost In You",, etc.. instead of having the backup singers sing other people's songs while he changed his clothes.. Other than that, it was a fabulous show.

It was great hearing so many of their hits but I'll have to say that the sound quality was not good at all. I couldn't even recognize the first couple of songs being played or even understand any of the lyrics, it finally got better but still not great. Even when I rewatched the videos I took, it was difficult to figure out what I had even recorded. After attending a concert just 2 days earlier at the same venue, the quality of the sound was severely lacking in comparison.

So the venue was small and set for in the round. Perfect. I know folks didn’t know what to expect for one of the first post COVID-19 live shows. Some folks were masked and others like nothing had happened over the last 15 months. Hell that was before the show started. Props for the opening ac “The Last Bandoleros.” Cheap Trick was rock and Roll monsters. Even though Tom Peterson was out recouping from heart surgery, and Rick Neilson was having problems due to a shoulder issue, the band was great and I was pumped. So glad to have live music back!

Really good show. I usually see Cheap Trick every time they come through the Tampa Bay area and they never disappoint. I noticed that they're changing up their setlist for each show, which was cool. It was nice hearing "Can't Stop The Music" but was hoping to hear "Tonight It's You". I think the extra guy on the far right of the stage, playing rhythm guitar, might have been Robin's son. I didn't catch his name when they were doing introductions. They were every bit as good as ZZ Top, if not better that night!
