About Mister E Machine
Chicago-based indie-glam trio Manny Petty, Chuck Harling, and Melissa Kempfer are back as Mister E Machine with their sophomore album
'The Stone Wall'. This 8 track record explores the world of post-marriage equality and digital dating apps from the queer/glam perspective. The title track 'The Stone Wall' is an anthem honoring the generation of the Stonewall riots and their impact on the eventual passing of marriage equality. The album cover features The Bearded Lady, the Chicago icon whose infamous performances at Dugan's Bistro made her the legend of her day in the late 70's and early 80's Chicago queer community.
The album features "The Grinder Song", a humorous look at the addictive nature of dating apps and social media as a whole. In "Dear Maleficent", the band explores the story of Sleeping Beauty not from Maleficent's perspective as was depicted in Disney's Maleficent, but from the King's perspective and why he chose to betray her and their mutual love.
Mister E Machine's first album "Shooting Stars" was named the best acoustic album of the last five years by Rock in Chicago Magazine. The Stone Wall is scheduled for release on June 8, 2019 with a performance at Chicago Midsommarfest located in the Andersonville Neighborhood.
