About Evan Bartels

Evan Bartels
Evan Bartels is a Nebraska-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose powerful baritone and deeply human storytelling have made him a distinctive voice in contemporary Americana. Raised in the tiny prairie town of Tobias, Nebraska, a community of just over 100 people, Bartels draws inspiration from rural life, faith, longing, and redemption. Telling stories about ordinary people with extraordinary depth and compassion, he crafts songs that are intimate, emotionally resonant, and unflinchingly honest. Bartels began writing songs, playing guitar, and performing at age 13, honing his craft in a backyard recording space his father built, affectionately known as Coop Studio.
Bartels earned national recognition with his 2017 debut album, The Devil, God & Me, and has since grown a devoted audience through Promised Land (2019), Lonesome (2021), and his 2025 EP, To Make You Cry. Recorded live with little more than acoustic guitar and vocals in his handmade cabin outside Nashville, the EP captures the stripped-down honesty and vulnerability that define his work.

I had an incredible night at Evan Bartels gig on Wednesday.
St Pancras Old Church is one of my favourite venues, with its rich history, intimate setting, and absolutely amazing acoustics.
Henry Webb-Jenkins kicked off the evening with his fantastic supporting set.
It's always lovely to be given the opportunity to see local artists and discover new music *following on Spotify and Instagram 😊
From the second Evan walked in the room, I couldn't take my eyes off him.
He drew me in with his personal stories and his journey into music. Every song was deep, meaningful, and sung with absolute passion.
Evan made me feel like he was just singing to me, and it was just me and him in the room.
I can honestly say there aren't many artists with this gift.
This was one of the best gigs I have ever been to, and if you get the opportunity to see Evan live, then my advice would be, "Don't think.. just buy the ticket"
I promise you won't regret it.
A huge thank you to St Pancras Old Church, Henry Webb-Jenkins, and of course Evan Bartels, Much Love Cheryl x
