Post-rock band aave may be based in Nashville, but its music is beamed in from the deep recesses of the psyche. The band’s debut full-length release, There’s Nothing (Villain Place/Rock Ridge Music), epically captures aave’s transition from a critically acclaimed ambient-indie duo to a majestically expressive post-rock band with disquieting delicate soundscapes that evaporate into grand climaxes.
