About Monolyth
Monolyth are a progressive death metal/groove band from Aveiro, Portugal, with many influences such as Lamb of God, Meshuggah,Gojira, Thy Art Is Murder, Heart Of A Coward, between many others.
The band was formed by TIAGO MARTINS and VICTOR BUTUC around 2009. After playing together and jamming for some months, the search for a lead vocalist started, and ended as MP (Marcelo) entered the band, followed by their first bass player PEDRO MAIA and guitarist GONÇALO LEMOS. Following the bassist's departure in February 2012, JOÃO MOTA joins the band. After playing the songs that would end up in their first album "ORIGIN" for about a year and half, they experience yet another lineup change, and DAVID ALVES becomes the band's new bass player (joins the band in July 2013)
The band released their first single “Rupture” on Youtube in August 2014
The album was released at 10th October of 2014.
