Against The Waves

Against The Waves was formed in 2008 in Madrid (Spain), featuring vocalist Mike Mateos, guitarists Jesús de Luis and Manuel Carrasco, bassist Guille Alva, drummer David Díez and Dani Dejota on synths, vocals and samplers.
The band released their first EP “Furious and Lonely Conversations” in 2009 and their first album “The Golden Hive” (2012), introducing new electronic elements to their base sound, a precise, powerfully emotional metalcore, combining melody and catchy choruses with abrassive vocals and agressive guitars and drumwork.

Steady touring and positive response to their studio work led the band to play with some relevant international acts like Parkway Drive, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God or Bad Religion on festivals like Resurrection Fest.
All these experiences and stylistic mixture flourished into Against The Waves’ second album "Borealis", made in the USA with producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, Emmure, Miss May).
The album received superb ratings on several international press sources, allowing the band to appear on MTV Spain with the first single off “Borealis”, and play on South America’s largest rock festival “Rock Al Parque” along with bands like Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies or The Black Dahlia Murder.
