Maya Piata

Maya Piata’s “Sunshine Soul” is a celebration of her New Orleans roots and Maori heritage. Influenced by Motown legends and grounded in indigenous sounds, her music is soulful and genuine, inspired by artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Whitney Houston. Growing up in a musical household, Maya began performing at a young age in the French Quarters of New Orleans, with early career highlights including "Homai Te PakiPaki" and performances on New Zealand radio.

Now, with a powerful voice and a focus on uplifting music, Maya’s journey has taken her to TEDx stages, American Idol, SoFar Sounds, Dallas residencies, a national tour of 30+ colleges and universities, and headlining the Auckland International Arts Festival’s Indigenous Music Highlight 2025. Piata’s songs explore themes of joy, healing, and connection, resonating with listeners through pure, heartfelt messages. As she readies new music, Maya invites her audience to experience a sound that is as true and uplifting as ever.
