About Kicker

Jill Drew and Phil Sutton (Comet Gain and Velocette) started UK band Kicker in 1998, releasing their first single in 1999, on the Rough Trade Shop imprint ForUs. Four more singles followed, on various lables, which were compiled together as their first CD 'Fivefortyfives' (Track and Field) in 2002. After a few line-up changes the original core line up of Drew, Sutton, Laura Bridge (Harper Lee) and Andy Jones were joined by Ben Phillipson. This line-up recorded their second collection 'Our Wild Mercury Years' (Track and Field) in 2005. Following the departures of Jones, Bridge and Phillipson (to concentrate on his own band The Eighteenth Day of May), Sutton and Drew put Kicker on hold, though they do not rule out further recordings. Sutton also plays drums for Track and Field labelmates the Projects.

Line-up:

Jill Drew, Phil Sutton

Past members:

Laura Bridge, Andy Jones, Ben Phillipson, Cat Cormack, Jax Coombes (also Comet Gain & Velocette), Beatrice Hatherley.
