About Reclaim the Sky
ABOUT
It was January 2015 and the location was Rev Studios in Chino, California. Long known as the private rehearsal space for rock and roll legends Slayer, Reclaim The Sky was hopeful that their own legend would be born on that day. The band was both excited and apprehensive to meet their potential new singer. They had auditioned several male and female singers, but up until this point, none of them were the right fit. When Giuliana Caporale confidently stepped up to the mic and began singing "Rush in to Wait" while the band played, they knew they had found the missing piece of the puzzle. She had the vocal ability, stage presence and fearless attitude they were looking for. Reclaim The Sky was now complete and much like their namesake, they were ready to soar to new heights.
RTS’ unique sound comes from the diverse talents and influences of each member, and the music resonates with audiences of all walks of life because of its crossover appeal. Brothers AJ Rage and Mighty Mike Mindiola securely set each song's foundation with drums and bass, respectively. Former classmates Katie Brewer on lead guitar and Rachel Manriquez on keys/piano, weave their sound together effortlessly, as only long-time friends can. Chicago native Donny Smith's versatile guitar playing style rounds out each song with just the right balance of power and precision.
Two years after they first stepped on stage together, Reclaim The Sky continues to make progress as a band by setting lofty goals and approaching them with a never-say-die attitude. In 2016, their debut self-titled album spawned the hit and music video for the track "See You Later." An introspective song for anyone that has ever dealt with lost love, the video garnered 30,000 combined views on YouTube, Facebook and Vevo. In March 2017, they enlisted the services of accomplished engineer and producer David Dominguez, known throughout the industry for his work with The Offspring, Guns N' Roses, Papa Roach and Orgy. David and RTS went into the studio and came out with the new single "When I Die." This guaranteed hit has just been released as a bonus track on their debut album's re-issue. Hard work and dedication has continued to create new opportunities for the band. In Spring 2017, RTS was the overwhelming winners of a world-wide, fan-vote contest that put them on stage at the M Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, alongside distinguished bands Buckcherry, Alien Ant Farm, Sick Puppies and Art of Anarchy. The positive feedback received at this event from fellow artists and media alike has assured Reclaim The Sky that they have a place in music. Their songs are powerful, their sound is distinctive, and their message is one that needs to be heard.
