About Drew Bordeaux
Drew Bordeaux is a Singer/Songwriter and Producer based in Westchester, NY. A member of the Hudson Valley music scene, Drew plays compelling solo acoustic shows as well as full electric with his band The Cavalry.
His solo sets are rooted in percussive acoustic guitar and earthy/soulful vocals, laced with live loops and violin solos. Drew meshes together core influences from blues to popular radio and the resulting sound harkens to the lineage of Bill Withers and Richie Havens, with the energy and spirit of 80s New Wave like The Police and Talking Heads, and the contemporary sonic stamp of Ed Sheeran, Ben Harper and David Gray.
Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, Drew grew up a member of any and everything musical - from orchestras and jazz bands to the local Fife & Drum troop and school musicals (both on stage and in the pit). Drew attended Harvard University where he was a member of the famed Hasty Pudding Theatricals. While studying Social Psychology, he refined his skills as a songwriter and sound as a street performer in Harvard Square, in spots previously frequented by Howie Day and Tracy Chapman. His incendiary bass, violin, and guitar skills have been featured in over a dozen rock bands, including The Geoff Hartwell Band and Andrea and the Armenian Rug Riders, and he was a founding member of The Track and The Fred Savages. Drew's violin playing can be heard on recent recordings from the brilliant songwriters Marc Von Em and Steve Chizmadia.
Obligatory Name Drops: Drew has jammed with Lauryn Hill, performed with Dave Bickler (of Survivor), opened for Daughtry and Boz Scaggs, and held at least one door in Kirkland House for Mark Zuckerberg. He also had the pleasure of playing some of the great NYC venues before they shut down (Kenny's Castaways, CBGBs, National Underground, and The Back Fence) and others that are still standing (The Bitter End, Alphabet Lounge, Cafe Vivaldi, Parkside Lounge and Canal Room)
