About Connor Leimer
Connor Leimer is a New York-based musician, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Within a few short years, he went from practicing guitar in a Kansas City suburb to staging an innovative D.I.Y. “dorm room tour” and recording his 2018 debut single "Brooklyn" and other singles alongside GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Matt Rollings. Mixed by Michael H. Brauer (Coldplay, James Bay, Tom Odell) at Electric Lady Studios in New York City’s Greenwich Village, the singer and songwriter possesses a distinct and dynamic perspective rooted in extensive musical and pop culture reverence.
The artist grabbed the attention of the fashion industry over the past few years too. Connor was styled by Billy Reid at one of his fashion shows at New York Fashion Week in 2016 and graced the cover of Visual Tales Magazine that same year. He has collaborated with acclaimed Vogue photographer Arthur Elgort and his son filmmaker Warren Elgort; who directed and produced music videos for “Brooklyn" and "In New York, at 22". Connor’s latest releases feature album cover portraits by prominent fashion photographer Alexei HAy, Shervin Lainez and Marcus Maddox.
“Mouth Words” formed after a chance meeting with Josh Rouse. the two joined together in early 2019 to write and record a new collection of songs backed by Rouse’s bandmates. Recording took place in Nashville but grabbed several bites of inspiration from the big Apple. Produced by Rouse, with overdubs by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Daniel Tashian, the EP saw Connor fronting a trio of James “Hags” Haggerty on bass and Marc Pisapia on drums while taking his guitar work into his own hands. Sprinkled with delicate piano fills by Rouse’s longtime producer Brad Jones, the effort further showcases Connor’s savvy in creating long besotted musical works.
"Like My Mind" formed over an arranged dinner meeting with Nashville-based producer Kyle Dreaden. The two sipped red wine opposite each other on a winter night bonding over a mutual adoration of record-making. The rendezvous was as cordial as it was fruitful. The result: four new songs with the sensible backing band of Jonny Gleaton on bass and Jake Finch on drums. Mastered in Los Angeles, California by GRAMMY® Award-winning mastering engineer Brian Lucey (the Black Keys, Cage The Elephant), Connor's latest book of songs present a love letter to the eccentric with the aim of encouraging listeners to live as cultured amateurs: like that of a wanderlust youth who dreams of speaking another language fluently on a foreign coast.
