Mic Christopher

Following a number of years' success as the lead singer of Irish band The Mary Janes, Mic Christopher embarked on a solo career in 2000 with the release of the Heyday EP. Born in New York in 1969 but raised in Dublin, Mic became a popular and acclaimed member of the Dublin music scene along with his fellow alumni of the Grafton Street busking crowd (which also included the soon-to-be members of Kila and the Frames). Mic and the Mary janes also worked with the charity Warchild, helping with art and music therapy for children in Bosnia.

Mic sadly passed away in 2001 after a tragic accident while on tour with the Waterboys in Groningen, Holland. The Skylarkin' album was finished over the next year by his friends,family and musical colleagues, and was released in 2002.It won the album of the year at the meteors awards beating Damien rice'O' and mundys'24 star hotel' .
