Alika

Alika se ha convertido en uno de los referentes del Roots Reggae Dancehall de habla hispana. Influenciada notablemente por el Hip Hop que escucho desde pequeña y con el cual dio sus primeros pasos en la musica. En 1994, fue una de las fundadoras de Actitud Maria Marta,una de las primeras bandas de rap de Argentina la cual fue reconocida por la prensa como la banda Revelacion del año 1995. Terminando con esa formacion en el año 1998 dejan registrado un unico disco "Acorralar a la Bestia" (1996, Polygram)
Alika decide en 1999 comenzar su propio proyecto, basado en las raices de la Cultura Rastafari, destacandose por sus letras claras y directas que hablan del Respeto, la Dignidad, la opresion del sistema occidental, la confianza en uno mismo, la vida en los paises del tercer mundo y las problematicas que se viven en los barrios. Chile es el pais en donde Alika, junto a destacados mc s de la escena, como Boomer, le da forma a su primera produccion "No Dejes que te paren" (2001 Indie) , este trabajo, hizo sentir su influencia entre los jovenes. En el 2001 tambien comienza a presentarse en vivo. En el 2003 edita su segundo album "Sin Intermediarios" disco bien recibido en Sudamerica con cortes como "Paciencia" "Demanda" y "Encendedores" En el 2005 llega su tercer produccion "Razon Meditacion Accion" un disco donde la musica de Alika & Nueva Alianza suena mas roots que nunca, este, contiene cortes como "Costumbre de Matar" y "No le des fuerza a Babilonia"
Su carisma y presencia escenica la han llevado a compartir su musica en festivales multitudinarios y tambien en Sound Systems, teatros, clubs, escuelas hospitales y hasta carceles en diferentes ciudades de paises como Estados Unidos, Mexico,Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brasil, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, España y Andorra, donde sorprende la convocatoria que tiene esta artista independiente. A finales del 2006 Alika graba con Mad Professor el album "Alika meets Mad Professor" integramente producido por el genio del dub , este trabajo se encuentra disponible en I Tunes.
En Septiembre del 2007 Alika lanza su exclusiva linea de ropa, ALIKA 3D, la cual ha tenido gran aceptacion, las prendas estan disponibles en Argentina en todos los locales de Isabel la Catolica www.isabellacatolica.com.ar
El 14 de Agosto del 2009 Alika presento su modelo de lentes realizado por la marca VULK.

Bio:
Building on her early hip hop days, Alika has become one of the leaders in the spanish-speaking reggae dancehall world. After forming part of Actitud Maria Marta—one of Argentina's first hip hop bands—in 1994, Alika eventually parted ways with the band to focus on her solo career, and in 1999 decided to start her own project based on Rastafari culture. From this point on Alika gained recognition as a fiercely conscious voice emanating from Latin America, writing direct lyrics of respect, dignity and selfconfidence, while also recounting common issues found in many of the third world "barrios" of Latin America.

Her charisma and presence on stage have allowed her to take her show to festivals, theaters, clubs, schools, hospitales and even prisions in different cities arround the world—including USA, Mexico,Guatemala, El Salvador Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain and Andorra—marking a truly amazing career for someone who to this day remains an independent artist.

Alika has six albums to date and is credited with having created some of the biggest reggae anthems in the latin reggae world. Tunes such as Ejercito Despierta on the World of Music Riddim (with several million Youtube views) have helped establish Alika as an international reggae star and have helped place latin reggae on the worldwide map. A further attestant to this is Alika's 5th album, which was a collaborative effort with world-reknown dub producer Mad Professor. The 2009 album, entitled Alika Meets Mad Professor, was entirely produced by the genius of dub himself and is currently available on iTunes.

In September of 2007 Alika launched her own exclusive clothing line-Alika 3D-which has received great accolades. The line is available in Argentina through the widely successful retail outfit Isabel la Catolica, with stores located throughout the country.
