About Alex Mills
Emerging British Singer/Songwriter, Alex Mills has been singing from the tender age of eight and has an extremely unique vocal style. With influences ranging from Etta James, Ray Charles and Chaka Chan. Possessing an extensive range of lyrically diverse tracks that draw from both her interests in the world around her and her own life experiences. Alex Mills is one of the exciting talents in the contemporary scene. As a result of this, she has worked with some of the most acclaimed artists in their genre: From urban all stars Roll Deep and prolific House Music producers the Audiowhores to up and coming underground labels such as Berwick St.Records, Osiris and Blowineast to name but a few. Alex has just completed her album and is signed to the independent record lable Bownpunk (owned by music giant Chriss Blackwell and Tricky). She has also recorded tracks with the highly accomplished house duo the 'Fanatix' (Aaron Ross and Neil Pierce) on 'Love conecction' which is very much still doing the rounds in the soulfull house scene. Alex has also recently lent her vocals to Tricky's (Massive Attack) new album and has recently had one of her tracks signed to a film staring Bob Marleys daughter and Elliot Gauld. Some of her most recent performances have taken place at some of London's most legendary venues such as The BBC studios for Later with Jools Holland (alongside Paul Weller, Jimmy Cliff and Martha Wainright.) Alexandra palace, Victoria Park for the Love Music Hate Racism festival (Alongside Hard Fi, Babyshambles etc) Ministry of Sound, Cargo, The Egg and the Cross where the legendary house duo Masters At Work asked her to come and perform with them. Some of her international appearances include Beijing (China), Guangzhou (China). Rome (Italy), Paris (France, for Canal plus and France Duex) Aix En Provence (France) and Belgium. Alex's dynamic vocal has been proven to compliment a variety of genres.
