About Soldja
The rapper known as Soldja hails from Syracuse, New York. Undoubtedly talented, he was often self-conscious about putting it out his music for fear of rejection. He says this main influences in hiphop were the story tellers like Nas, Biggie Smalls, Fabolous and Jay-z just to name a few. After realizing he was actually good at rapping at the young age of 9, he took years honing his skills
Leaving New York and moving to Memphis was a big adjustment for him. One of the first things that stood out to him was the music scene. “Memphis is big on blues and the oldies and I fell in love with the music I heard” Soldja says, “The music had real feelings behind it”. So he wanted to dig deeper into the music scene.
Several years later his family decided to move to Atlanta in 2003, upon arriving he meets a group of friends who were in the talks of signing a deal with one of members in the legendary group Goodie Mobb. After learning that Soldja could rap his friends pushed him to pursue music further than just a hobby.
After deciding to pursue music further Soldja chose to buy studio equipment so he could learn all aspects of the business. In 2011 he put out his first mixtape Road To Recognition. Fast forward to 2017 he dropped a follow up mixtape Road To Recognition 2.
Soldja has continued to grow as an artist and he has been working to gain the recognition he feels he deserves.
