About Setoria
Known for her expressive and soulful stage presence, Setoria has made her mark in the Washington, DC area performing popular R&B, Soul, Neo-Soul, and Contemporary Jazz cover tunes. Currently working on her debut EP, she has been compared to notable artist styles such as Jill Scott and Maysa. She is musically influenced by legends such as Lauryn Hill, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker and Chuck Brown.
Her first single, Shorty, released in May of 2014, hit the ground running with international recognition. In 2016, Spell On Me, a jazzier tune earned her a nomination for Best R&B/Soul Song of the Year, one of two nominations at the 2016 Josie Music Awards (JMA’s). That year, Setoria earned her first award for R&B/Soul Artist of the Year at the JMA’s. The following year, she returned to the Nashville, TN based event to once again win the R&B/Soul Artist of the Year Award in 2017. Her single, Say My Name, won R&B/Soul Song of the Year at the same award show in 2018. The music video for Say My Name earned a nomination at the 2019 Philadelphia Independent Film Awards and a win that same year at the 2019 Philadelphia Film Festival for Best Music Video. In her latest single, Back 2 Me, Setoria decided to put a wave of sultry inspiration into her music. The motivational record earned the R&B/Soul Single of the Year Award at the 2022 JMA’s where she dedicated her reward to bringing awareness to mental illness.
In further advocacy, Setoria shows her support for curvy women and became the Music Brand Ambassador for the Smooches Woman Movement. She co-wrote one of the Movement's curvy-girl anthems - Look at Us. Her t-shirt collection, #HUSTLE, was founded to inspire and motivate her listeners and can be found in her on-line store, KeyElite Boutique . In internet radio, Setoria, along with two female co-hosts, produced the Black Gold Radio Show. The woman-led platform was created to support independent artists in music, film, and fashion. While deciding to end production in the spring of 2017, Setoria continues to support independent artists, small business owners, and others who are making a difference in their communities.
