Mickey Burns is a band. But not just any band. Mickey Burns is a band that detests bios, bios exactly like this one. Its not because they are above them but because the band didn’t form to write about themselves. They didn’t form to tell you that they are a five piece. Or that they hail from Durban. They also hate it when people say they “hail” from somewhere. And despite all this hate they aren’t haters. Mickey burns is a band, they formed to play music. Not to describe music. Also because that’s actually quite challenging. Not because they are unique…though they are because they are them and no one else can be them, because you are you and I am me. Its challenging because it’s like asking what sound jumping off a cliff into a deep blue pool sounds like? Its not a word thing. It’s a sound thing. And that’s what Mickey Burns is. A sound thing. The music they play makes sound and those sounds have words, and those words tell stories…mostly. So there you go. In a nutshell Mickey Burns is a 5 piece, they (another word for hail) from Durban, and they make sound in the form of music. They hope you enjoy it.
