About Paul McClure
Paul McClure - The Rutland Troubadour
Www.paulmccluremusic.com
UK Folk/Roots singer songwriter, full-time touring Troubadour, storyteller, road-warrior, raconteur and serial house concert performer from Rutland. One of the hardest working and truest examples of the modern day troubadour, he spends most of his time on the road and takes his inspiration from his world and the people in it. Signed to Clubhouse Records.
"Remarkable songwriter… We should all work on helping make him the star he deserves to be." - Mojo
Paul McClure's songwriting style takes inspiration from the greatest of sources, from Townes Van Zandt to Loudon Wainwright III, Elvis Costello to Ryan Adams. A wonderful lyrical balance of wit, pathos, compassion and strength combines with an ear for timeless melody to prove the songs more than strong enough to carry the weight.
With acclaimed performances at many UK festivals including Ramblin’ Roots, Y-Not, Truck, Simon Says, Wood and Cambridge Folk Festival: “King of the Club Tent..” - 3 Chords And The Truth -
“...Club Tent highlight...” - Americana UK.
McClure's solo career has led him to share the stage with stars of Americana such as Justin Townes Earle, Otis Gibbs and Ian Felice and well known names of the Folk world as Bob Fox, The Young Un’s and Caroline Hester - with enthusiastic support provided by Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio 2 folk show.
