About Deraign

DERAIGN are a four-piece band from Gold Coast, Australia. Forming in 2012 as a five piece, Deraign played a number of gigs around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. With a growing fan base, they began securing larger gigs with bands such as Australian thrashers Harlott, Mason and In Malice's Wake, to name a few. Musical differences saw a line up change in 2014, which resulted in the band enlisting Vocalist/Bassist Dan Vine and entering the studio as a four piece to record their debut E.P "Purity in Violence" The release of "Purity" saw the band quickly gain momentum, securing larger gigs, such as the support slot for 'IRON REAGAN' (U.S.A) in Brisbane and the Bangers and Thrash Festival in Sydney, among many others. The Digital release of "Purity" quickly gained the attention of many independent record labels who were all quick to offer contracts in order to gain distribution rights to Purity in Violence. After carefully reviewing all options, Deraign signed a deal with Dead Center Productions, whose distribution network got the E.P into the hands of fans and magazines all over the globe. Reviews began to flow in quickly, all giving massive praise to the band. After playing at the Steel Assassins Festival alongside some of the best and most professional bands that Australia has to offer, Deraign returned to the jam shed to formulate a new plan... A realization had been made at Steel Assassins, one that would push their live shows to another level. The audience already loved their songs, but the best bands on the bill knew how to really deliver their songs to a crowd. Set lists began to change, an intro track was brought in, the shows are now meticulously planned and the audiences are going wild!. The barriers in front of stages are taking beatings as sweaty metal maniacs try to bust their way through, people chant for more when the show is over and a tradition has formed which sees audience members swarm the stage at the end of the night to take over the microphones while the band burns through a well known cover. Shirts are selling out faster than they can be made, E.P’s are getting sent out faster than ever before, and the demand from overseas for merchandise is more than the band can keep up with. Deraign are writing and demoing their first full length album which is showing a more focused goal and a broader range of musical influences. The new songs which have been brought into the set list have been extremely well received and have left people asking for more. One thing is clear, this album will show the world what Deraign is really capable of!!! Bang your head until your neck gets a sixpack!!! Stay Thrash!!! \m/(-_-)\m/ https://www.facebook.com/deraign https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxo-M61ufpaTvXtw2w8r3xA https://deraign.bandcamp.com REVIEWS "Purity Of Violence offers the listener a state of metatemporal respite. It’s as if the greatest year of Thrash – 1986 – never ended and Deraign have delivered much more than just a tribute to one of the greatest developments in metal, hopefully sustaining the re-awakened genre for a very long time in the process. 8/10” -Worship Metal http://www.worshipmetal.com/reviews/deraign-purity-violence-ep-review "all tracks have high musical skills as everything is tied by technical structures here and there, and it denotes good taste in metallic spirit.” - Victor Varas (Zombie ritualzine) https://zombieritualzine.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/album-review-deraign-purity-in-violence “You may have to cast your mind back sometime to the heyday of Slayer and Megadeth, when Thrash metal was this good and perfectly executed, each song full of energy, superb drumming, killer riffs and agressive vocals, well this EP does just that and for the same reasons.” –Stu’s reviews http://mrstu616.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/deraign-purity-in-violence-ep-cd-review.htm “Australia has so far not really known for its thrash metal. But with the debut of DERAIGN itself could change all that, the four Australians but for the uncompromising and merciless and oldschool variant of this genre” (Translated from German) –Kerston Lisen of Twilight Magazine http://www.twilight-magazin.de/reviews/cds/item/deraign-purity-in-violence-ep.html “Deraign hits you like a kick to the face starting their set of with the track Pit of Misery showing early that they are there to do one thing and that’s Thrash. They exude energy while on stage winding you up into a frenzy with excellent guitar work by Steve Lievesley and Chris Clarke, Absolutely amazing drum work by Chalky Hill and topped with Daniel Vine dominating attention with pounding bass and a voice that perfectly embodies the spirit of Thrash metal. With a marvelous solo that ends accompanied by a impressive scream that leads into a riff that makes you want to bang your head till your neck hurts for a week, The song finishes and the entire stage goes black.” –Oompa (themetalreview.com) https://themetalreview.com/deraign-garethstock-iii-live-review Gold Coast Thrash Metal.
