About Scott Ritcher
Scott Ritcher became known as the leader of the math-rock band Metroschifter. But despite the overdriven guitars and tortured vocals that became Metroschifter's trademark, Ritcher's solo career has found his songs laid bare.
Often with minimal accompaniment and hints of country, attributable to his Kentucky roots, his lyrics and tone combinations pull from an unusual palette as "Ritcher leaves himself confidently vulnerable" (Orlando Weekly).
Ritcher's songs have been covered by dozens of artists including The Promise Ring, Refused, The Get Up Kids, Ink & Dagger, Elliott, Burning Airlines, Joan of Arc and Shipping News.
“Imagine sitting in front of a fireplace, a delicious drink in your hands, feet in epically thick socks, and you’re reflecting on the reasons why the world is sometimes a great and beautiful place – that’s what it can be like listening to Scott Ritcher’s songs.” –Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno
