Queens of the Stone Age

This has to be one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I am a huge fan and had to travel from out of state for this show, but it was completely worth it. I hope they decide to continue this show in the future. It is very different from a normal QOTSA show and in some ways I think it is better than their standard. Would highly recommend fans check this out if the band decides to do this tour again.

The whole experience was wonderful. Parking at Lot 39 was only $15, which is a steal for most downtown Austin events. It was just a short walk through a beautiful part of UT, so there was no downside to the cheap parking. I walked in almost immediately. What little line existed moved seamlessly through security; I even had to double back and make sure the guard didn't need more of me because it felt too quick. I was in the second balcony, but the event sold out within an hour, so I was just happy to get a ticket. While it was initially a bit disorienting because you feel high up and it was dark, I soon realized that it meant every seat had a unobstructed view. Paris Jackson opened. I'm not familiar with her music, but it sounded beautiful. She came through clearly, and it was just her with a guitar. The sound was crisp and I could see the stage area despite the low lighting. And then, the main act -- Queens of the Stone Age. Holy cow, what a freaking show!!! I've seen them before, and I've rocked out harder and had set list with more of my favorites, but this was different. It was special. The acoustic variations of the songs, and the symphony in acts two and three, were all so unique. Josh's emotive delivery and the stripped down sound left me completely entranced throughout the first act. The lighting made dramatic shadows at times due to the light in Josh's hand, and at other times it bathed the whole stage in deep red. It responded to the heavier sound when the show shifted, and it added another level to the performance. And back to the sound. Just like Paris before, the sound was wonderful during the show. Although there was one moment when Josh was speaking to the crowd when it seemed to be low, but you never missed what he said, it was corrected within seconds, and I never noticed it again. That minor issue never popped up during their songs. The symphony had a rich, deep sound. Josh's voice was impeccable. Overall, everything was freaking awesome.

Queens were phenomenal. Solid choice of support too. One or two little issues with the sound (especially with So Good) where the bass kind of drowned everything, and lead vocal wasn’t high enough, but the show more than made up for that. Touching tribute to Ozzy as well 🖤

It was great! However what is the reasoning behind the venue closing the men’s room at the end of the show. If you are traveling to see the show like I was, then I would have liked to use the bathroom before I had to travel home. Anyway Queens of the Stone Age was great. The bathroom situation at the Etess Arena not so much.

Amazing show. Great mix of old and new material and the energy was electric. The show was postponed from the fall and it was worth the wait! Josh said he was so happy to be there, and you could tell he meant it. Glad he is not only healthy, but thriving!

The Struts were fantastic!!! First time seeing them live and I would see them again in a heartbeat! Luke Spiller is so entertaining and engaging and makes you want to get up and dance. His voice is amazing. The band as a whole is so damn good!!! Queens of the Stone Age were less enthralling for me. For some reason the sound system made them sound muffled and the instruments were too loud for Josh's voice. They are great musicians but it seemed like they feel they don't have to try as hard anymore. Overall, a little disappointing.

This was not a Queens concert, but a variety show supporting Josh Homme’s family run charity “The Sweet Stuff”. There were comedians, a magician, various musical guests including Beck, Dave Grohl, The Kills and more. The show was very entertaining and raised $250K for disadvantaged music industry people facing medical crises. The only downside was the line around the block to get in.

A blistering set by the rock god and his incredible band, boy did they deliver a hip swinging, head banging masterclass in rock’n’roll swagger. Josh’s voice only gets better. And he was in a naughty mood… some fans won’t forget getting so “close” to him during Straight Jacket Fitting. He was lucky to get back out of the crowd fully clothed. QOTSA have to be the ultimate rock band, they can pulverise you one minute and s*x you up the next. Hot hot hot. Can’t wait for the next show.

I love Josh it’s been 10 years since I seen him! I’ve been a fan of Queens of the Stone Age since 2000!He’s always been the showman I do wish he would play more of the old stuff though! Even though the band sounded amazing I miss Nick Oliveri ,him and Josh had the Ying and Yang chemistry ! The opening band seem to fit more with the vibe then Spiritualized! I do not know why they opened!

I've seen a lot of nands over the years, and queens of the stone are definitely in my top 5. What an awesome show it was. The sound was on point, great light show and the crowd interaction was great. Little bit of banter and crowd surfing. Can't wait for them to return.

Masterclass musicianship. This was my first QOTSA concert, and it may very well be my absolute favorite. Seamless transitions, stunning lighting, and very little filler. I was able to attend with one of my best friends, and our reaction after every song was the same: Speechless. These guys know how to put on a show and I will be be seeing them again as soon as possible

Saw them in Philly with great seats and they blew my head off! The show was perfect and some unexpected things happened to make it memorable. Santa Claus showed up and was invited onstage and then Josh really went out on a limb when he invited the audience to come closer and enjoy the party. I remember thinking that this could go really wrong at any moment but QOTSA, security and the Philly audience pulled it off with style and grace! Just doesn't get any better than that! When I saw them a few days later in Queens I knew what to expect and the seats were away from the action. Still a fantastic concert and the audience had a mosh pit going on like I haven't seen in years! Top class musicians playing top class Rock and Roll! Long live the Queens!

What a great way to kick off my birthday weekend. I should be exhausted, but I'm STILL jacked up on all that great energy from last night. Great band, great venue, great crowd, exceptional bar service, fantastic ushers, extraordinary sound engineers, and a HUGE nod to the janitorial staff. I'm not even joking. That venue was spotless through the entire event.

Although I love Queens of the Stone Age since Rated R, it has been the first time I was able to be there live. Perfect execution and very beautiful songs. What I missed, is a little bit emotion and they felt someway professional but tired. I feel it is a common issue for most of the bands from the late '90s, which are still in business.

QOTSA were amazing. We travelled for over 3 hours to see them at Cardiff Castle and it was 100% worth it. Such a fantastic venue for this as well, the castle is beautiful. The only thing I wasn't impressed with, was the support act. In fact, at one point, I had to put my fingers in my ears. I felt like their sound persondidn't do a great job. Often I couldn't hear the lead singer at all. The worst bit was the high pitched screech, which I'm guessing occurred when an instrument was too close to a mic. Either way, I found the support act quite painful to watch. I would travel that distance and more to see QOTSA again!

The band's were awesome. Key Areana is a horrible place to see a band play. The acoustics were so bad, and it took away from the whole experience. I will never see a live show there again. Eagles of Death Metal were outstanding. QotSA rocked as usual.

Qotsa killed it!! Such a great show and was awesome to see them play some different songs live like Someone’s in the Wolf, Into the fade. The band looked they were having fun onstage which just added to the amazing show. Hands down the best rock band on the planet and has been for years!! Thanks Gents till next time... 🖤🤘🏼
