About Rude Music
Rude Music has been a long time in the making. It’s a Cinderella story. It’s a stream of consciousness. It’s the feel-good hit of the summer in an alternate reality. “Think Los Angeles in the 1970’s with a little more humidity.”
After moving to Music City, brothers Matt (drums, vocals) and Kevin Nolan (guitars, bass, keys, vocals) steadily became trusted sidemen around town, appearing regularly on stage and in the studio with Maggie Rose, Them Vibes, Kree Harrison, Brandon Whyde, Jason Martin, Jessy Wilson, and countless others. For nearly a decade prior, the rhythm section/songwriting duo powered The Morrison Brothers Band, a country/rock group that gained a notable following, first in Washington, D.C., and then in Nashville, TN, where The Nolans have called home since 2015.
Rounding out the Rude Music lineup are Marty MacMillan (guitar, pedal steel), a master luthier and veteran of the Detroit, Chicago, and D.C. blues scenes, and Tyler Bartram (bass, guitars), a virtuosic jazz musician, Frank Zappa historian, and childhood band mate of The Nolans.
Staying true their American roots music and rock & roll influences, the group elected to record in both Nashville, TN, as well as in historic Muscle Shoals, AL, following in the footsteps of countless musical icons before.
Rude Music’s full-length debut album Dog Days is set for release in Spring 2020.
