About Carlton Reid
Writer and historian Carlton Reid talks about his research into the cycleways which were built in Britain between 1934 and 1942. More than 500 miles of these often-kerb-protected cycleways were built, but most were abandoned and forgotten about. Carlton is the author of Roads Were Not Built for Cars and Bike Boom, both for Island Press of Washington, D.C. He’s the founder of BikeBiz.com and recently won the transport journalist of the year award in the Press Gazette’s British Journalism Awards for Specialist Media. He writes for Forbes.com.
