Mooth

- Eng: Born in 2006 as Koan, Mooth is an Italian noise rock band that plays and composes their own songs. Their proposal is a mix of sludge and hardcore, with darker and heavier influences along the lines of the new math-rock, with self-critical and very personal lyrics: the result is a unique blend of sound, hard to imitate, preventing to place the band in one of the many “standard” strands of noise-rock. The speed of the songs, the lack of solos, the strong punk reminiscences and a rough and directed approach during production and recording, scar these guys as “old-school” and bring to mind bands like Jesus Lizard, Uzeda Melvins and Kyuss. The continuous "stop'n'go" & changes in rhythm give the tracks a connotation in between serious and humorous: an ironic approach, a cynical commentary on our times characterized by the mash-up of contradictory informations. The proof is the fact that Mooth are at ease on stage with bands of various kinds, from alternative-rock to metal, either in small clubs, social clubs and festivals. And their live sets are explosive! __________________________________________________________________________ - Ita: Nati nel 2006 come Koan, i Mooth sono una band italiana di stampo noise-rock che suona e compone i propri brani. La loro proposta è un misto di hardcore e sludge, con influenze più cupe e pesanti sulla falsa riga del nuovo math-rock, con testi in inglese riflessivi ed autocritici: ne risulta una miscela dalla sonorità unica e personalissima, difficilmente imitabile, che impedisce di collocare la band in uno dei tanti filoni “standard” di cui il noise-rock si è arricchito negli anni. La velocità dei pezzi, l'assenza di assoli, le forti reminescenze punk e l'approccio grezzo e diretto in fase di produzione e registrazione denotano la componente "old-school" della formazione e rimandano all’influenza di band come Jesus Lizard, Uzeda, Melvins e Kyuss. I continui "stop'n'go", i cambi di tempo e ritmo, danno ai brani una connotazione tra il serio e il faceto, un approccio ironico, un cinico commento ai nostri tempi caratterizzati dal mash-up di informazioni contraddittorie: prova ne è il fatto che i Mooth si trovano a loro agio sul palco con gruppi di vario genere, dall'alternative al metal, sia in piccoli club, che centri sociali e festival.
