About Critters Buggin
Critters Buggin may be the rare exception in the music industry where the parts are better known than the whole. Drummer Matt Chamberlain's credits include Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, David Bowie, Bill Frisell, and the Saturday Night Live band; 'Saxophonicist' Skerik has been seen with Galactic, Les Claypool, Garage A Trois, and his own Syncopated Taint Septet; bassist Brad Houser was a founding member of The New Bohemians (who were later joined by Edie Brickell); and percussionist Mike Dillon can be seen most of the same places as Skerik, as well as accompanying Marco Benevento or with his own band Hairy Apes BMX. They've been active since 1998, when their debut album 'Guest' was released on Stone Gossard's defunct Loosegroove label. 3 more albums followed: sophomore step-up Host, their artistic pinnacle Bumpa, and ambient experiment Amoeba. Following the collapse of Loosegroove, Critters moved to the greener pastures of Ropeadope for their latest release 'Stampede' (which was unfortunately originally rejected by RAD's former distributor, Atlantic Records).
